ถาม : ถ้าประโยค Direct Speech มี Yes, หรือ No หากเปลี่ยนเป็น Indirect Speech จะทำได้อย่างไร?
ตอบ : ถ้าประโยค Direct Speech มี Yes หรือ No ให้ทำได้ดังนี้
เมื่อเป็น Indirect Speech คือ
(ก) ประโยคที่มี Yes
1)เปลี่ยน Said to เป็น told + บุคคล + that ถ้าประโยคเดิมนั้นเป็น = Yes, + ประโยค Present Tense เช่น
Direct : He said to me, “Yes, I always do that job for her”
เขาพูดกับผมว่า, “ครับ ผมทำงานนั้นให้เธอเสมอๆ”
Indirect : He told me that he always did that job for her.
เขาบอกผมว่า, เขาทำงานนั้นให้เธอเสมอๆ
2)เปลี่ยน Said to เป็น promised…..that ถ้าประโยคเดิมเป็น = Yes, + ประโยค Future Tense เช่น :-
Direct : Jack said, “Yes, I shall write to you.”
แจ็คพูดว่า, “ครับ ผมจะเขียนถึงคุณ”
Indirect : Jack promised that he would write to me.
แจ็คสัญญาว่าจะเขียนถึงผม
(ใช้ promised that แทน said that)
3)เปลี่ยน said เป็น refused to ถ้าประโยคเดิม = No + ประโยคซึ่งไม่ยอมกระทำสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่ง เช่น
Direct : Det said, “No, I shan’t go now.”
เดชพูดว่า, “เปล่า ผมจะไม่ไปเดี๋ยวนี้”
Indirect : Det refused to go at once.
เดชปฏิเสธที่จะไปในทันที
Direct : She said, “No, I shall not live here.”
หล่อนพูดว่า, “เปล่า ดิฉันจะไม่อยู่ที่นี่”
Indirect : She refused to live there.
หล่อนปฏิเสธที่จะอยู่ที่นั่น
หมายเหตุ : เมื่อเปลี่ยนเป็น Indirect คำว่า No ให้ตัดออกไป
