กริยาซึ่งตามด้วย Gerund หรือ Infinitive มีความหมายเท่ากัน
Verb (กริยา) ที่จะกล่าวต่อไปนี้ เมื่อมีกริยาอื่นตามหลังจะใช้รูป gerund ก็ได้ หรือใช้รูป Infinitive ก็ได้มีความหมายเท่าเทียมกันทุกประกานได้แก่

เขาจะเริ่มเรียนประวัติศาสตร์วันพรุ่งนี้
Gerund : We like playing football every Sunday.
Infinitive : We like to play football every Sunday.
พวกเราชอบเล่นฟุตบอลทุกๆวันอาทิตย์
Gerund : The traffic continued to moving slowly.
Infinitive : The traffic continued to move slowly.
การจราจรยังคงเคลื่อนต่อไปอย่างช้าๆ
Gerund : I intend calling her in the evening.
Infinitive : I intend to call her in the evening.
ผมตั้งใจจะโทรไปหาหล่อนเย็นนี้
Gerund : He dreads thinking about it.
Infinitive : He dreads to think about it.
เขารู้สึกหวาดๆกลัวๆ เมื่อคิดถึงเรื่องนี้
Gerund : John planned going to Thailand.
Infinitive : John planned to go to Thailand.
จอห์นวางแผนจะไปประเทศไทย
Gerund : She loved singing every night last year.
Infinitive : She loved to sing every night last year.
