ถาม : Compound Complex Sentence คือประโยคเช่นไร
ตอบ : Compound Complex Sentence แปลว่า “อเนกัตถสังกรประโยค” หมายถึง “ประโยคใหญ่ตั้งแต่ 2 ประโยคขึ้นไปมารวมกันอยู่โดยที่ประโยคใหญ่ท่อนหนึ่งนั้นจะมีประโยคเล็กแทรกซ้อนอยู่ภายใน” ลักษณะข้อความเช่นนี้เรียกว่า Compound Complex Sentence (หรือ Mixed Sentence) ตัวอย่างเช่น
I saw no one in the house which you had told me about, so I didn’t go in.
ผมไม่เห็นใครอยู่ในบ้านซึ่งคุณได้บอกให้ผมทราบนั้นเลย ดังนั้นผมจึงไม่เข้าไปข้างใน
(ประโยคที่ยกมากล่าวให้ดูนี้มีประโยใหญ่อยู่ 2 ประโยคคือ ประโยคแรกได้แก่ I saw no one in the house which you had old e about และประโยคที่ 2 ได้แก่ so I didn’t go in ประโยคใหญ่ท่อนแรก มีประโยคเล็กแทรกซ้อนอยู่ภายในคือ which you had told me about ลักษณะประโยคเช่นนี้แหละครับเราเรียกว่า Compound Complex Sentence ขอให้จำไว้ด้วย)
